About Me

A Little Bit About Me...

My name is Em, I'm 25 years old and I'm a software developer, based in Montreal.

I am passionate about tech, productivity hacks and software, personal and professional development strategies and, of course, software development. I also love to write about all of those things, as it helps me consolidate my learning and share my work with like-minded people.

When I’m not doing any of those things, I’m either out there hiking, kayaking, camping or playing board games (probably Exploding Kittens)!

New Grad 🎉 🎓

This year, I graduated from the Internet Programming and Development program (AEC) at John Abbott College, Montreal. This program was tough, half of the class didn’t make it. I almost didn’t make it. But the countless sleepless nights, the sacrifices, and the superhuman efforts finally paid off!

My specialities now include quickly learning new skills and programming languages, problem solving abilities, leadership skills and delivery methodologies used in the industry to date such as SCRUM, LEAN, AGILE and Version Control.

Professional Life 🧑🏻‍💻

After doing my internship at Genetec last December, I am now a full time software developer in the company. One of my daily task is to finish my internship project, which is a service that I’m building from scratch to help the developers in their daily CI/CD operations.

I am also pursuing my entrepreneurial career on the side, hoping I get to leave a meaningful impact on the world, in my own way - all while contributing to the preservation of talent and expertise in Quebec. I wish to improve people's daily lives by developing products that aim to solve everyday problems, both in a personal and professional context.

I hope you get to stick around for the journey, we're going to build great things!
